New images for mixed media work

I've been working steadily since the beginning of the new year on bringing in new, fresh items to my Etsy Shop. It seems that I've been working on mostly jewelry to add to estudiomartita. If you visit the shop you will see new bracelet, rings and necklaces. I'll also be adding some home accessories and have some trays lined up to refinish and redesign. What I'm most excited about starting new is my mixed media work on canvas. Always the most challenging for me, the mixed media work takes all of my concentration, thoughts and energy to put something together that I actually like and hopefully some art lovers will appreciate. I am my own worse critic so my mixed media work rarely passes the test of my 100% appreciation. I think this keeps me always hungry to work harder, explore new techniques and strive to reach farther in my desire to improve.

I have some ideas of where I want to go with my new mixed media work. I've been gathering images and wanted to post some of them for you to see. Some are photos I took from 2009 Dia de los Muertos in San Francisco. One is an old photo of my Aunt Jessie on her farm. There are also photos of beloved Frida that I want to work with. All in all, I'm happy with the latest images and hope to create new art that will live up to my snotty standards.

I'm excited and hopeful about this new work!

Hope you are all doing well in the new year!
