To the familia of friends who attended Bound by Love, new, old, young and youthful, I am so grateful to have had you at the opening. What a delight to see familiar faces and meeting new ones. Maria Acosta, executive director of La Raza Galeria Posada has been incredible to work with and I am very grateful for her support and efforts. The efforts of other Board of Director members was equally admirable as well as those of volunteers.
The presentation of Bound by Love at La Raza Galeria Posada has been enhanced by the spacious environment in which the exhibit is laid out. When visiting, be prepared to view fourteen of my paintings and also the work of eight very talented women artists. A fabulous art installation representing the bed that Frida Kahlo both slept on and painted in is on display. It is lovely! In addition there is an altar dedicated to the life and memory of Frida Kahlo.
Bound by Love runs until August 31st. It is worth a day trip from the Bay Area or beyond. If you live in the Sacramento area, please add this exhibit to your TO DO list. It is an important exhibit to do and see!
